FAQ

Where are the locations you hold your sessions? Can we schedule an in home session?

Most of my sessions are held at the beautiful beaches on the gulf coast, and surrounding Sarasota Parks. In fact, you may find a list of my most popular locations in the "locations" drop down menu"! I do not currently offer in-home sessions.

Do you require an upfront payment and when is final payment due?

To reserve your spot on my calendar and to get started on planning and curating your session, I require a non-refundable $100 retainer. This ensures your place will be held on my calendar as I often book weeks or months in advance. This payment goes towards your total cost, and the final balance is due on the date of our session.

What Happens after our session?

Great question! After we've finished our time together, I'll immediately return and back up all of your photos. Within the following few days, I will select the very best images from our time together to present to you for final selections. The ones that don't make the cut are images with eyes closed, hair in the face, and the like. While others usually resort to programs designed to remove these photos, I go through by hand individually to be sure you are presented with the best of the best. You'll then receive your "preview gallery" where you can view and select your favorites for editing.

Do you retouch photos?

Yes, I do! All photos will receive basic retouch like color "correction", skin smoothing, and flyaway removal. If there are any unsightly objects or people in the background they will also be removed. I also will adjust the color/glow of my images, and hand edit them in my artistic editing style. I make sure each step of my process is done with care so that you're left with beautiful photos that you'll cherish for a lifetime.

What is the photo turnaround time?

After our session, you can expect to see your watermarked preview gallery within the week! Once you've chosen the photos you'd like to be included in your final gallery, just let me know and you will enter my editing queue for production! Typically my editing queue is 1 - 3 weeks.

Do you offer mini sessions?

I do, sometimes! "Mini sessions" get a bad rap because the term is widely misused. Mini sessions are designed to offer back-to-back sessions with multiple clients on one particular date, not a flexible booking option throughout the year. Typically I offer mini sessions during one weekend in the fall, and occasionally in the spring. Follow me on instagram to be the first to know when they drop!

How do we book you?

You can get in touch with me from my "contact" page so we can discuss just what you're looking for! I believe photography is not a one-click to book process, so that we can make sure this is the perfect fit before moving forward.

What if my child is uncooperative?

As much as I'd love to guarantee bright eyed, toothy grinned sessions each and every time, there will always be those who are a little more reserved (like, my own daughter!). Please know, that while I try my absolute best to get giggles and smiles out of your little ones, I will never, ever, force your child to smile, nor would I encourage you to! Capturing a serious face on a timid child can be just as beautiful as capturing a giant smile on a class clown. In fact, this is a great way to capture memories as you children TRULY and REALLY are! I know sometimes this can feel disappointing, but I encourage you to come to our session ready to just love on your children. If we spend the whole session cuddling our littles and comforting them, that could truly turn into a beautiful session all on its own!

Can you help us with styling and wardrobe options?

Yes, yes, yes! After booking, you'll receive a comprehensive style guide that will show you how to shop for your session! It includes images of specific outfit choices, and a link to my Pinterest board. Choosing colors and styles that coordinate well with the location, my editing style, and each other makes a HUGE impact on the outcome of your images! I'm also here always to bounce ideas off of and help guide you each step of the way.

What if there is rain in the forecast?

Ah, Florida. Possibly the most unpredictable state when it comes to rain. During the summer months especially (though, throughout the year as well), Florida usually forecasts a % chance of rain at some point during the day. 9/10 the rain comes and goes quickly. When it clears, it can leave some beautiful sunset skies for picture time! That being said, I ask that you be prepared to shift our session up 1/2 hour before our scheduled time should we need to accommodate for excessive clouds or rain that may come late in the evening. I am in constant communication with you the evening of our session as well should rain become an issue. If it DOES rain out during the session and we were unable to find an alternative beach that was not experiencing rain, I do my absolute best to reschedule you for another date that works well.

How far out do you book?

From January to June, I'm typically about 1-2 months out from booking. From then until December, my books fill very quickly and I suggest getting in touch with me 2-4 months prior to your desired session date, especially as we approach the holidays. However, if you do not have flexibility throughout the month and are scheduling for specific vacation dates, I highly recommend you contact me 3 months in advance, regardless what time of the year it is.

What is your editing "style"?

My images are a collaboration of different editing styles, from nostalgic, warm and dreamy, classic and clean, to bold and vivid. I do focus on capturing deeper and moodier tones. Location, wardrobe, lighting, and even your own personal preference can affect how your final images are artistically edited. We will discuss during the planning process what style you're most drawn to. While cloudy skies will produce a different look than a bright sunny day, I make sure to edit your gallery in a way that emphasizes your images beautifully.
